“Her name was Lola, she was my grandma…”

Valerie asks about grandparent naming conventions, and when I tell her about the words “Lolo” and “Lola,” she cannot but break into song (Scroll down to Post 9 in that comments thread). Nor is this the first time that I have inspired Copacabana satire: Ganns did likewise a couple of years back, too.

Here’s my DC ID photo beside a certain singer so the reason for all this is made clear: Me and Barry Manilow

  1. Raffy says:

    AhHAHAHAAhaha! Eherm…

Sorry, Pau, but I would never thought the day when both your picture and that of Manilows’ would ever be nestled side by side.

    Now that it’s there…Oooh, I just got the chills….

  2. FWIW, I don’t actually think you look much like Mr. Manilow, but who cares when there is such fun to be had by pretending you do? ;^)

  3. thomas says:

not that i have any clue who barry manilow was or what he sung…

  4. rene says:

now, i can have you sign my cd collection of barry. hehehe…

  5. anj says:

raffy! have you not seen the loyola lampoon? ordo, prime ordo (francis) and barry were together for an ad!

pau… you are way more handsome. not that he is at all. hehehe!

  6. ganns says:

Ooh, I remember that Copa remix!

Ah, the travails and travesties of being so durn good lookin’. You’re a blessed man, Pau, my friend.
