Bad Astronomy on Armaggedon

“Here’s the short version: ‘Armageddon’ got some astronomy right. For example, there is an asteroid in the movie, and asteroids do indeed exist. And then there was… um… well, you know… um. Okay, so that was about all they got right.” – Phil Plait, BadAstronomy.com

More Bad Astronomy from the movie Armageddon, which is showing right now on ABC.

I work on Edwards AFB and I got to watch them film part of Armageddon. I got to see Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton. A few people I worked with were NASA techs in the background. I also stood out on the flightline and watched them film a shuttle evacuation scene. Then I went to see the stupid movie and realize what a huge waste of time it all was. :(

Definitely one of the worst movies I’ve seen recently. Not worth the celluloid it was printed on.

This guy (who writes “Bad Astronomy”) should do “Mission to Mars”. He will have a *field day* with that POS.
