Blogtree

Blogtree aims to build a “genealogy” of blogs, based on who inspired who to start blogging, using a “parent-sibling” analogy to trace relationships. I’ve also posted this link to BlogRoots. (Thanks to Vix for the link.)

So who got you to start blogging? Me, I started in September 2000, after Raffy told me about it. That makes him my Papa. Here’s my “pedigree.”

Dogs and Cats Living Together

Speaking of the endtimes, where exactly does the Bible mention “dogs and cats living together” as a sign of the end of the world? I can’t seem to find the verse.

Or have I just been watching too much Ghostbusters?

Key quote follows:

Stantz: “Real wrath-of-God-type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming from the sky! Rivers and seas boiling!”

Spengler: “Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes! Volcanoes!”

Zeddemore: “The dead rising from the grave!”

Venkman: “Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!”

The Humble Space Telescope

Canada’s first space telescope, the Microvariability and Oscillation of Stars (MOST) Instrument, will be used to detect exoplanets. It has been nicknamed The Humble Space Telescope.

First target: 51 Pegasi A. I’m still skeptical at the concept of a planet-sized object doing a full orbit in 4.2 days.

Vis-a-vis

I just found out that I’ve been using the word “vis-a-vis” slightly wrong. I thought it meant “with regards to,” when in truth its primary meaning is “compared with,” or “face to face with.” I hope I haven’t mangled it too much in day-to-day conversation.
