The Great Barrier
A new arm of the Milky Way galaxy has been discovered, which the quoted scientist says is a “gas border,” 60,000 light years out from the center, “at the furthest reaches of the galaxy.”
Sounds to me like they’ve found the Great Barrier at the edge of the galaxy. Better not steer too close.

Kapital Krispy Kreme is Koming
Krispy Kreme to open its first DC store. Right outside the Dupont Circle Metro station. OH YES. I can already see the average weight and body fat percentage at Dupont Circle skyrocketing. And those Krispy Kremes get as much news coverage as Apple stores.
Update, 03/2004: I’m writing this six months later and the “Coming Soon” banner is up beside Dupont Circle Metro south exit! Yay, it’s koming, it’s koming!
