It seems that most free font and clipart sites have taken their marketing cue from the pornographic web, and turned the search for free fonts into a tiresome, aggravating wade through a soup of popup windows, misleading banners, and lists of dead links.

But thanks to the blog concept, FontLover is here to point us to more reputable providers of type, free and paid. Through their Font Scoop (and corresponding archive), we find sites like Utopia Fonts, Chank, Aenigma, and of course, Font-a-Licious.

Any other freebie type repositories to suggest? (Update: Sauron Software (in Italian) and Clipserver have large archives of “classical” print fonts, useful for almost any publication or project.
