Netscape 4.8 and Japanese soldiers

We’ve all heard the one about the Japanese soldiers stationed on a remote Pacific island who continued to fight World War II through the 1960s. Nobody had told them the war was over.

Zeldman’s analogy for the newly released Netscape 4.8 is funny.

  1. Valerie says:

What is 4.8 supposed to do that 4.7 doesn’t?

A lot of older machines (and in my line of work, a lot of my users are on older machines) cannot run the newer browsers. If 4.8 can solve some of the 4.7 problems, then I say it’s a Good Thing.
