The XBox-Linux Project aims to provide a version of GNU/Linux for the Xbox, so that it can be used as an ordinary computer. They even have screenshots of Linux running on the thing. That is so amazing it’s funny. And vice versa.

Bomb Kills US Soldier
US soldier killed in karaoke bar bombing. That’s in Zamboanga, Southern Philippines, where the Islamic extremist rebels are. (If it were in the North, it would more likely have been Communist insurgents.) Now, I wonder if this gives the US further pretext for military action in the Philippines, or if this will be treated as a passing casualty.
