In some of the Filipino blogs I've seen, the writers tend to jump back and forth from English to Filipino, more or less at random. Is this a Filipino tradition of some sort? Are there ideas that are more easily expressed in Filipino than in English?
Tom - yeah, it's called "Taglish," not really a tradition, just something natural speakers sometimes fall back on when their English isn't so good or if the concept is better said in Tagalog to a Filipino-speaking audience. I try to avoid it myself pero nagta-Taglish din ako kung minsan.
