    nvram boot-args
    checks boot arguments. if there aren’t any then you can:
    sudo /usr/sbin/nvram boot-args=”-v”
    to set verbose boot. And
    sudo /usr/sbin/nvram boot-args=
    to go back to normal. I like verbose boot, esp during upgrades and stuff it can go a long way toward explaining extra-long boot times.
