G4 iBook. With Panther. And a new slot-loading CD drive. For cheap. Kind of. More feedback (and trolling) on Slashdot.

    Earlier today I clicked on the slashdot link, and the poster just made me mad. Glad to know (after a re-read of your post) that it was really from 1998, which softens it a bit, since Macintosh ca. 1998 truly was that frustrating for those with such ancient OS and hardware. I should know. :)
