Apple Safari

Safari: Apple’s new web browser. I’m still not sure whether to be happy or worried.

OF COURSE it works better thatn any other browser on OSX! It’s probably using proprietary technology and undocumented calls to the operating system, the very sins for which MS has been pilloried for years. However, it is unlikely that anyone will say anything about Apple’s doing likewise, since doing so would be to call down the Cupertino Inquisition on one’s head.

I am currently using Safari and am impressed with it so far! As fast as Chimera and the controls are more compact.

As far as Rod’s comments, it is all speculation. We have no idea of how it was put together so lets not pillory on our guesses. It just ain’t fair. If they could get iSync and iCal to work this well with OS X I’d be happy!

Dang it, Pau, you beat me to the blog with Safari (You: I didn’t know we were having a race. Me: Uh…no. We’re not…racing…).

    You’re fast though. ;)

I think it’s (Safari) pretty, and it reads the haphazard CSS on my pages better than IE, but it still doesn’t display my width properly. It does get the background color right, though.

Hopefully they’ll get the Beta up to Alpha soon.

Hey! It does buttons like Chimera!

  4. Raffy says:

Hey! Safari imported my IE bookmarks without my asking. Looks like Apple really wants it to replace IE.

That’s not too cool, though. I’m not too comfortable with Steve Jobs pushing me through the door I was just peering into.
