Is Friend Bear trying to be funny, profound or both or something else entirely? Is this something that, if it has be explained, then you just won't get it?

The creator is trying to be funny in the SomethingAwful Jeffk tradition, I think: putting out a product so horribly badly made it's actually funny. And it does get profound too. Sometimes.
