Vivaldi Gloria Scarlatti Dixit

Best recording of Vivaldi’s Gloria and A. Scarlatti’s Dixit Dominus. Ever. Trevor Pinnock and the English Concert are clean, lively, and crisp, and Nancy Argenta is one of my favorite sopranos. The Dixit Dominus (a choral setting of Psalm 110) is one of A. Scarlatti’s more obscure works, and is a shining gem of the early baroque. Lovely.

Have you ever heard Vivaldi’s Four Seasons done by Il Giardino Armonico of Milan? Those guys ROCK! I bet they had to replace all of their strings after that recording session. The Brandenburg Concertos weren’t spectacular but Four Seasons was!
